For many applications of geared parts it is necessary to have them
hardened or heat treated, for example carburized or nitrided or
any other treatment. In that case, special techniques and technologies
are required for the further machining of the hardened parts. With
these technologies for example, occuring geometrical distortions
caused by heat treatment may be fully compensated.
Inhouse production is possible up to the following dimensions:
Peel milling:
The hardening of geared parts may cause dimensional
deviations of front and superficies surfaces that affect the running
smoothness of the meshing parts. Because of that the geared and
hardened parts have to be geared a second time. The gear milling
tool literally peels of the upper layers of the hardening to reproduce
the predetermined dimesions and profile and flank forms. This process
may only be performed with the most modern CNC-controlled machinery.
diameter up to 200 mm
length up to 400 mm

Hard turning:
In additon to the the distortions of the tooth geometry
there may also occur dimensional deviations on simple plains. GSC
has the inhouse facilities to turn e.g. case-hardened gears on a
special purpose lathe. This technology makes it possible to restore
an optimal dimensional accuracy. The parts handling on these machines
is fully automated.
